Del Oro Parents Club has partnered with KAPLAN Test Prep to provide workshops and classes to students on the Del Oro HS campus.  Get experience with the SAT and ACT college placement tests without the pressure of actually taking it! 

What a great turn out for the SAT/ACT full length practice test!!  Please do not forget the results night.  It is very important.  It is Thursday night 2/2/12 in the library from 6-7pm.  You will receive a lot of very useful information.

Workshops are available at a cost of ONLY $10 per student.  The workshops are open to all grades to allow students to get practice and learn about these important college prep tests.  Please pre-register your student for these workshops, so we have materials for each student.  For the workshops, you must register with the DO Parent's Club, Ann Heimberg at 916-223-2014 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , NOT Kaplan. The workshops for the 2011-2012 school year are scheduled as follows:

• Full Length Practice tests for SAT or ACT, you choose!  The test will take place on January 21, 2012 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the library.  The results night will also be in the library on February 2, 2012 from 6:00pm-7:00pm.  A fully proctored practice test will show students what to expect in a test-like environment.  The results night will provide a comprehensive analysis of their performance on the test(Parents Welcome!).  All for $10!
•  "Accepted: Getting into your First Choice School" workshop on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6pm-7:15pm.
  
•  SAT or ACT essay writing workshop: Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2:15pm.  Students will receive their graded essays following this 75 minute session.

Another option is a Kaplan SAT Test Prep Class which is recommended for juniors: 

Juniors (Class of 2013) can begin their SAT test preparation by enrolling in a 10 session Kaplan SAT prep class.  This course includes 18 hours of expert Kaplan teacher instruction plus 4 full length SAT tests given throughout the course to monitor progress.  The 10 session class costs $499 for DO students. A higher SAT score is guaranteed or your money back.  A spring 10 session SAT prep class has been scheduled for the spring of 2012.  The fall class is in progress, but signs ups for the spring class will be available soon. This class will begin in March running through May for the spring test date. Kaplan has an additional option for students in any grade level that can be used throughout their high school years called "College Prep Advantage" program and will provide your student preparation to get into college.  The extensive instruction includes PSAT prep, both SAT and ACT prep in the classroom and/or online, SAT Subject Test prep, AP Test prep, online resource library, practice tests, custom program length to suit student goals/schedule, and includes additional online sessions with tools to help your student navigate college admissions.  All this along with the Kaplan guarantee of a higher score or your money back.  Cost for this program is $999.
