Del Oro Parents Club has partnered with KAPLAN Test Prep to provide workshops and classes to students on the Del Oro HS campus.  Get experience with the SAT and ACT college placement tests without the pressure of actually taking it! 

Workshops are available at a cost of ONLY $10 per student.  The workshops are open to all grades to allow students to get practice and learn about these important college prep tests.  The workshops take place in the DO library and are scheduled for the 2009-2010 school year as follows:

• SAT critical reading/ SAT essay workshop:  Wed, Sept 23rd from 1 pm - 3:15 pm. 
• SAT/ ACT combination test: Wed, Oct 28th from 1 pm - 5:15 pm with a follow-up results/ TS101 seminar on Thur, Nov 5th from 6 pm - 7 pm. 
• Full length SAT test OR a full length ACT test - you choose: Sat, Jan 16th, 10 am - 2:30 pm with a follow-up results/ SAT vs ACT on Thur, Jan 28th from 6 - 7:30 pm. 
• "Accepted: Getting into your First Choice School" workshop: Wed, Feb 17th from 6 pm - 7:30 pm. 

Kaplan Test Prep Classes are also available as follows: 

Juniors (Class of 2011) can begin their SAT test preparation by enrolling in the spring 2010 Kaplan SAT prep class.  This 12 session class includes 20 hours of expert Kaplan teacher instruction plus 4 full length SAT tests given throughout the course to monitor progress.  The 12 session class costs $499 for DO students which is $200 less than the cost last term. A higher SAT score is guaranteed or your money back.  The new class on the DO campus will begin on February 27, 2010.  For the class schedule, click HERE.  To enroll in the Kaplan class, call 1-800-527-8378 (1-800-KAP-TEST), follow the phone prompts, and provide the course number "SASA10518". 

NEW!  Kaplan has a new option just introduced Dec 2009 for students in any grade level and can be used throughout high school.  The new option is called "College Prep Advantage" and will provide your student preparation to get into college.  The instruction includes BOTH SAT and ACT prep class/online, online resource library, practice tests, custom program length to suit student goals/schedule, and includes an additional 12 online sessions with tools to help your student navigate college admissions.  All this along with the Kaplan guarantee of a higher score or your money back.  Cost for this new option is $999. 

Kaplan private or small group tutoring is available.  Also, additional Kaplan classes are available in the Sacramento Kaplan Center including ACT test preparation classes.  Our DO students will get a discount on these classes too.  When enrolling tell them you're a student at a partner school, Del Oro High School.
